Subject: [ITA-Arberseh] Why and How to search Arberesh Archives

For the new list members who may not know, or others who might not be aware
of this feature, it is possible to search through all the old messages to
this list by going to this site:

Scroll down and click on ' Search the Italy-Arberesh Archives'. On that
page you put the name or location for which you are searching in the Query
box, and select the year by clicking once in the circle next to the year you
wish to search. It is also possible to use other query terms like St.
Mary's Cemetery, or St. Joseph's Church or the name of a ship, or a date
etc. Click Enter, and this will bring you a listing of all of the mentions
of the search term in any message for that year. Click on "Full" or
"Message Body" and read the message.

That is one of the reasons I am posting Obits. The search feature will
allow any name mentioned in any of the obits to be found. All the names
listed in any message are searchable, not just those in the subject line.
(If you have any difficulty, please let me know).

If any of you have acquired any obits or other notices in your searching, it
would be a great idea to post them on this list. Who knows, you just might
be found by a long lost cousin.
