Oh Dee, you are in for the treat of a lifetime if you haven't checked out
the LDS Family History Center yet. They have filmed extensively all over
Italy, with a few exceptions [Salerno, Genoa, etc.,] You will find from 3 to
50 films for every town, depending on what was available for them to film.
The records include actual copies of birth, death, marriage, census, notary
etc. Very few church records [In most cases, they didn't permit the
filming] Many towns now go through 1910, and I understand new filmings are
through 1930 [Italy has a 70 year privacy law]. When you go there, you can
use their computers to check the Ancestral File [to see if anyone has
submitted info on your surnames] and also use their computer to see exactly
what films are available for your town. That can also be done from their
website.

I didn't realize that they would also have Italian records. How easy is it
to
check for these? I'm planning to go to the one that is open by me. This one
does have some evenings.
