Hi,

Egroups usually have web pages that can only be accessed by list
members.

This makes it a lot more useful for list members to;

store bookmarks related to list
store files that are commonly handy to the list
create databases that all members can contribute to
calendar functions

I assume that Rootsweb is not that different in this regard.

Just putting the idea forward.
