Hello,
Going to the Latin roots of Olinto...
"O" is commonly used as "the" in some of the regional dialects of Italy.
"Linto" means "to bend" in Latin.
Not that this helps you much in a geneolgical search.
There is a tie to DeLuca in my family, it is not very clear though. I know
that sometime possibly in the 20's (could be later or earlier) my great
aunt Mildred Olenio was in the wedding party of a girl that married a
DeLuca who's family sold automobiles (possibly).
I think the girl was a Paolucci, possibly the daughter of Michele Paolucci,
who died in the influenza epedemic of 1918. This story may be tied to
Providence Rhode Island or Massachusetts.
I only know the story, as my great grandfather's foster brother was Michele
Paolucci, and my 94 year old great aunt can only remember parts of the
story, tied to the wedding photo in a very old album.
Later,
Tom
