I am trying to find where I might find a copy of the monument
transcriptions, if there is one for the Old British Cemetery, Leghorn
(Livorno) Italy.
My 6x great grandfather, Thomas Wilson was buried there in 1773.
An excerpt from “Cumberland Families and Heraldry" by C. Roy Hudlestone
&
R. S. Boumphrey, The Cumberland & Westmorland Antiquarian &
Archaeological Society, 1978, p.369. describes the monument:
..........."On Thomas Wilson's monument in the old British Cemetery
Leghorn, the arms are as: .. .. .. a wolf salient Or in chief three
mullets .. .. .." etc.
Does anyone know if there is a website with photos of the cemetery? Or,
is there an address for the Cemetery administration where I could
write.
