Hi,
Luigi = lewis
Lewis is not an Italian name to my knowledge. There is no "w" in the
Italian alphabet.
Lewis would have been an anglicized name. Much like Giovanni becomes John.

I am tracing a family for a friend who has an Italian ancestor,
LEWIS CUPPELLO, who settled in Manchester, England.
