Hi

I am researching the Culhan(e) family orginally from Ireland.
Emigration date unknown. However believed to be in the late 1840's.
Apparently the Husband / Father died enroute to Canada. The mother
remarried again upon arrival in Canada to ? Sunstrum who she met on
the ship, The Sunstrums were suppose to have run the Golden Lake
Hotel..

Honora Culhan(e) died in 1869 age about 24. First Wife of John (Jack)
Armstrong. It is believed she died possibly in Round Lake Centre.
Reference found in the poem The Round Lake Ball (if anyone has any
information on this poem and the events behind it, I would be very
interested)
She is buried in St John's Cemetery in Eganville.

She had a brother Daniel who married Margaret Armstrong (John's
sister). They had several children. I know that they lived in
Killaloe for awhile and some of them also worked in the Lumber
Industry around the turn of the century (1800-1900) Margaret is also
buried in St John's Cemetery.

John and Margaret grew up in the Eganville area, living in both
Grattan township and Wilberforce township.

Thanks
Valerie Westwood
