Can someone do a look-up for me in the 1841 (or 1842) Montreal census
please? I am looking for David Canavan and or Denis Canavan. I have a
D. Canavan, barber in the 1845-47 directories at 129 Commissioners St.
This is the right occupation for my gggrandfather, David. Denis is his
father and Bridget his mother. In 1848-50 David moves to Custom House
Square and runs a tavern, this also corresponds to other information.
If David and his parents were recent immigrants to Canada from Co.
Cork, Ireland, where might they be prior to Montreal? In other words,
what census should I check next? Happy New Year.
