I have returned from a week in Jackson-Clay-Overton Counties; and wanted to take a minute to publicly thank Jodie, and all of the others who work at the Jackson County Courthouse in Gainesboro. (I was allowed access to all of the original records which are stored in the basement. I have to say that it was a real privilege to me to be able to research and to see the actual documents from my ancestors' lifetimes. This Courthouse is one of the few that still allow genealogy researchers access to the original records. And I say thanks.) Everyone that I spoke to in the Courthouse was very helpful and generous with their time and knowledge. Thanks to Jodie and everyone there.
