I did a search for Payton Anderson and didn't find him. Could it be possible that he could be in the Dodson Branch Community. The two are fairly close together Smith Chapel & Dodson Branch. Don't know how many small Cemeteries that have been destroyed in the area. Dodson Branch has an awfully lot of graves that don't have a stone or name. It just about makes me sick to think about it.
On the farm that I was raised on there is a small cemetery that I had thought originally destroyed. Now that I have found it I can't find a name anywhere. It is in the 10th civil district and located between the Smith Chapel, Spring Creek Twelve Corner Cemetery, Burris Cemetery, Zion Cemetery and Owen Cemetery. As I grew up the farm where the cemetery is located belonged to Birdle Maberry. Before he owned it belonged to Hop Terry then Bedford Jackson. In the area also was the family of Whitson Holloway. Also living fairly close must have been Ballards because there is a hollow called the Ballard Hollow. Don't know why no one knows anything about this cemetery. Guess the only reason I do is because I was raised close to it. Wish someone had some descendants missing in this area that might could help me out. The grave of Ed Finn who died due to a fall at the Dry Creek Falls very close to this cemetery has been found. Both of them are on the property of Doug Stanton.
Please ask around to see if onyone knows about this cemetery. The cemetery book for Jackson County is moving with a little more progress. Please be patient, this book will have deaths listed by death certificates and obituaries also.
