Hello,

My greatgreatgreat grandparents [John] William JAMES, Sr. and Harriet[t]
SPENCER were married in Clark Co., OH in 1826. He was b. ca. 1800-1810
in OH. She was born ca. 1810 in either CT or NY. She was possibly
daughter of Matthew SPENCER in 1820 Clark Co., OH census.
He was born in OH, son of Richard JAMES and Margaret (?).

Looking for evidence to see if this Richard JAMES the son of William JAMES and
(?) WILLIAMS, and who was born in 1783 in Loudoun Co., VA. This William JAMES
was born ca. 1750 in Wales and died around 1803 in Warren ? Co., OH.
This William JAMES is not the same as the Wm. JAMES in the Jesse JAMES
line.
John William JAMES, Sr. and Harriett SPENCER then lived for an indeterminate
period in IN. He died either in IN or IL. The 1850 Crawford Co., IL census
shows
her remarried. They had several children, including Richard, Perry who died
in the
Civil War, and John W., Jr.
