Hi Michael,

First, please let me apologize for my typos--I didn't proof-read very
carefully.
The book, "History of Williamsburg" is by William Willis BODDIE.

FTM stands for Family Tree Maker--it is the software program that I use to
organize my tree and they have CDs that you can purchase that have various
types of information. Census, Births, Deaths, Marriages, Land Records, GED-
COMs, etc.
They have a website: http://www.familytreemaker.com/
The GED-COMs are on what they call Family Tree Works CDs. Each CD is a
different Volume. Researchers can submit their GED-COM or family tree and it
will be put on the next CD that they record. Some of the trees are well
documented, but most are not. Some Public Libraries have these CDs in their
Genealogical Dept.

IGI is the collection of International Genealogical Information from the
Morman Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. I found it at my Public Library in the
Genealogical Dept.
It is on microfisch film and is separated into different countries and
different states in the US. Then each country or state has the different
surnames listed in alphabetical order. The Church lists this information
without checking for its accuracy, but it helps the researcher know where to
look for documentation. It lists births, deaths, marriages, census, wills and
christenings.

I do not have a copy of the will of William James yet, but according to WFT
Vol. 1, #5830, the will was "dated July 09, 1750 and can be found in the Will
Book 1747-1752 and the will was processed January 18, 1749/50 and can be found
on page 393." I shall attempt to get a copy the next time I go to the library.

I have made copies from the book "Early Pee Dee Settlers" by John M. Gregg
pertaining to the surnames that I am researching. There is several pages on
the surname JAMES and I will type them and hopefully get them out on the list
tomorrow.

Hi Mary.
You put on the James rootsweb list a genealogy which ended by saying
"...None of this is documented, sorry to say, and I welcome any
additions or corrections. I obtained most of the information from
'History of Williamsburg' by Wm. Willis Bodde and the rest from FTM, IGI
and the message boards."
I am not a genealogist, so I don't know what "FTM" or "IGI" are. Please
tell me what they are and how I can look at them.
You also mentioned a "...Will written 07/09/1749, probated
01/18/1750..." for William James b(1711) d(ca1750) Williamsburg, Craven
Co SC.
Do you have a copy or have you seen it?
Thanks for your time.
Michael
