Hi All! :)
1757-1836 Thomas JAMES
I wrote before about a Thomas JAMES married to a Sarah CLARK in Mercer Co.
KY and they lived in Henry Co KY. I thought at first this Thomas had moved
by 1840 to Graves Co KY- HE DID NOT (Could be a son of his though). I am not
sure WHAT Thomas JAMES I am looking for yet but I do have what seems to be
MY Thomas JAMES dying in Henry CO KY and his widow Sarah filing for pension.
This Thomas JAMES was enlisted originally in a PENNSYLVANIA Militia Unit in
the American Revolution- based on the pension application I have in hand
(copy of). The in the affidavid, They had 14 children. IF this is truly my
Thomas JAMES- two of his Children were Mary Ann JAMES who married a
Dinning/Denning they would have almost been twins 1805 birth. There is a
James listed as a neighbor that has "no interest in the matter other than to
verify she is who she states she is". There was a notice that he had died
and was removed from the pensioner list of Pennslyvania in 1804 but it seems
he had not died, only transferred from Pennsylvania unit to a Kentucky unit.
Any and all who have any JAMES' in MERCER CO or in HENRY CO Ky during the
early part of 1800- ESPECIALLY THOMAS'- Please send me what you have. I am
now planning a trip in the spring- after bad driving weather over to VISIT
physically Henry and Mercer CO. KENTUCKY. I no of no other way to sort out
these James' other than to go fully armed with as much information as
possible to put dates, places, and connections together, than to ask others
for their information. I realize I may be biting off more than I can chew,
so please, send it over the next week. I don't want to confuse myself
anymore than I am.
Have a nice day/night! :)
