I would not be too worried about it because it was probably "Haliburtons",
or some other spelling varient, or one of their "front" organizations. All
these people do is extract names, addresses, etc from phonebooks and
compile them into a "one name phonebook". They send the advertisement to
everyone they can find listed with the particular surname. Sone also sell
surname T-shirts, etc. Unless you want to sit down and write or telephone
every Jarvis/Jervis in this country or the world, these people are little
more than ripoff artists.

There are a number of bookstores which specialize in genealogy books, surname
books, and genealogy aids, and they have web pages on the net. You can also
subscribe to GEN-MAT-L and make inquiries to that list about Jarvis/Jervis
