I still have made no headway in determining the relationship my Sarah Jay,
wife of John Satterfield, of Orange, eventually of Caswell, to the rest of
the Jays. It has always been a puzzle why James Satterfield was also
involved with the dispersion of land which were originally awarded William
Jay, when they all arrived in Orange County in the 1750's. I can understand
my John being included, since he was married to Sarah, but I wonder if John's
brother, James, was also married to a Jay. I hope that if anyone finds any
kind of document which might connect them, that you will let me know.
