FIRST GENERATION

1. John G. Jenner was born about 1770. He gave an age of 45+ at the 1820
Census. He resided from 1807 in Campbell County, Kentucky. John purchased
30 acres on the Licking River from Anthony Walton WHITE in 1807. Mr. White
had purchased 20,000 acres from David LEITCH who established Leitch's
Station near the present Wilder, Kentucky around 1789. "GINNER John"
appears on the 1807 Tax List of Campbell County, Kentucky with 30 acres on
the Licking River, purchased from A. W. WHlTE. He owned no Blacks and no
Horses. He died between 1830 and Dec 24 1835. He resided abt 1770 to 1806
in Somerset County, Maryland. John JENNER purchased a tract of land from
Thomas GOSLEE in Somerset County, Maryland in 1790. John GOSLEE appears in
the 1800 Census of Broad Creek, Somerset County, Maryland.

He was married to Nancy Harris (daughter of Charles Harris Sr. and Mary
Green) on Apr 19 1804 in Worcester County, Maryland. Nancy Harris was born
in 1789 in Snow Hill, Worcester, Maryland. She died before Dec 24 1835 in
Grants Lick, Campbell County, Kentucky. Nancy's father left her $13.00 in
his will, in March 1831 John G. Jenner and Nancy Harris had the following
children:




SECOND GENERATION

2. George H. Jenner was born on Sep 7 1805 in Maryland. George Jenner
moved from Kentucky to Illinois, settling in Richland County, near
Parkersburg. George H. JENNER of Lawrence County, Illinois, purchased 80,
40 and 33.37 acres in Richland County, Illinois recorded on March 10, 1843
at the Palestine, Illinois Land Office. When Mary G. HARRIS married George
W. KEEN on March 22, 1831 in Campbell County, Kentucky, bond was supplied by
George S. JINNER.
Mary was apparently George's second wife as she was only 29 in 1850 and
George's oldest son was born in 1832. The three Stairnitter (Starnater)
children are with George's family in 1850: Alonzo J, age 5, Alexander, age
3, and Mariah, age 2, all born in Illinois. These were probably Mary's
children from a previous marriage.
George and Mary had a 17-year-old Mary BAILEY living with them in 1870.
He was married to Mary ??. Mary ?? was born about 1821 in Illinois. George
H. Jenner and Mary ?? had the following children:

i. James Madison Jenner.
ii. ? Jenner was born about 1857 in Illinois. George and Mary Jenner had a
son who was 3 years old at the 1860 Census.
iii. Douglas Jenner was born about 1861 in Illinois. Douglas was 9 years
old at the 1870 Census.

George H. Jenner was married to Maranda Jaco. Maranda Jaco died before
1850. George apparently married a widow Mary STARNATER following Maranda's
death. She was born in Maryland. In 1900, her son George JENNER said his
mother was born in Maryland. George H. Jenner and Maranda Jaco had the
following children:

i. William H. Jenner.
ii. Georgia Ann Jenner.
iii. George Washington Jenner.
iv. Thomas A. Jenner.
v. Mary O. Jenner.
vi. Harriet F. (Camil?) Jenner.
vii. Elizabeth Jenner was born about 1843 in Illinois. Elizabeth was 7
years old at the 1850 Census and 16 years old at the 1860. Eliza A. Jenner
married William J. Bowlby on May 23, 1868 in Richland County, Illinois.
viii. Dr. Edward J. Jenner M.D..

3. Lizzy Jenner was born on Mar 31 1807. She was buried in Persimmon Grove
Baptist Cemetery, Campbell County, Kentucky.
She was married to Selmon Abbott on Jan 8 1830 in Campbell County, Kentucky.
Bond was by John Harris. Married by William Gosney. Selmon Abbott was born
about 1809 in Kentucky. He was buried in Persimmon Grove Baptist Cemetery,
Campbell County, Kentucky. Selmon ABBOTT, age 61, appears in the 1870
Census with Mary ABBOTT, age 50. His first wife Lizzy JENNER may have died
before 1870. Lizzy Jenner and Selmon Abbott had the following children:

i. Thomas Abbott was born about 1830 in Campbell County, Kentucky. He died
on May 14 1855 in Campbell County, Kentucky.

4. William Jenner was born on Jan 10 1809 in Campbell County, Kentucky. He
died before 1870. In 1850, William "GINNER" was living with the John A.
TARVIN family. John TARVINs wife, Violetta MADDOX, was William JENNERs
first cousin; their mothers Nancy and Rhoda HARRIS were sisters.
He was married to Margaret Baker (daughter of John? Baker and ?) on Jan 7
1830 in Campbell County, Kentucky. According to marriage records book,
Margaret had no father or mother at the time of her marriage. Consent was
given by her uncle, James BAKER. Family Bible says they were married
January 7, 1829. Margaret Baker was born between 1810 and 1820. William
Jenner and Margaret Baker had the following children:

i. William Columbus Jenner.
ii. Martha J. ? Jenner was born about 1837 in Kentucky. When George
Washington JENNER was living with the ACKLIN family in 1850 and 1860, there
was also a girl named Martha JENNER living with them. In 1860, a Martha J.
JENNER, age 12, was living with John JENNER in Illinois.
iii. Nancy Jane Jenner was born on Jan 17 1840. Nancy was living with
Squire and Elizabeth MARDIS in 1850.
iv. Rosannah F. Jenner was born on May 2 1842.
v. John James Jenner.
vi. George Washington Jenner.

He was married to Hellen M. Smart on Mar 23 1856 in Campbell County,
Kentucky. Hellen M. Smart was born about 1833 in Campbell County, Kentucky.
William Jenner and Hellen M. Smart had the following children:

i. Charles M. Jenner was born on Aug 10 1857 in Kentucky.
ii. Henry C. Jenner was born on Aug 22 1859 in State Road, Campbell County,
Kentucky. Other sources give birth date of June.
iii. Alford L. Jenner was born on Jun 3 1862.
iv. Sarah Jenner.

5. John Jenner was born on Jun 2 1811 in Kentucky. John provided the
marriage bond for his sister Rohda JENNER when she married George Washington
SMITH on December 24, 1835 in Campbell County, Kentucky. John and Mary
(MARTIN) JENNER were living near John's brother George JENNER and sister
Rhoda SMITH in Richland County, Illinois by 1850. Living with John and Mary
was brother Williams son Columbus JENNER, also Francis M. JENNER, and Martha
J. JENNER. John JENNER of Richland County, Illinois purchased 40 acres in
Richland County, Illinois recorded at the Palestine Land Office on May 1,
1852.
He was married to Nancy Baker on Aug 28 1833 in Campbell County, KY. Bond
was by George W. SMITH.
He was married to Mary H. Martin before 1851. Mary H. Martin was born about
1821 in Kentucky. John Jenner and Mary H. Martin had the following
children:

i. Mary C. Jenner was born about 1848 in Illinois. Mary C. JENNER was 12 at
the 1860 Census.
ii. Eliza H. Jenner was born about 1849 in Illinois. Eliza H. JENNER was 11
at the 1860 Census.
iii. Hezekiah Jenner.
iv. William H. Jenner.
v. John F. Jenner was born about 1856 in Illinois. John was 23 at the 1880
Census.
vi. Susan Jenner.

6. Nancy Jenner was born on Apr 22 1812 in Kentucky.
She was married to Thomas Phillips on Oct 8 1838 in Campbell County,
Kentucky. Married by William GOSNEY. Bond was supplied by James JENNER.
Thomas Phillips was born about 1809 in Kentucky. Nancy Jenner and Thomas
Phillips had the following children:

i. Mary E. Phillips was born about 1840 in Kentucky. Mary was 20 at the
1860 Census and 29 at the 1870 Census.
i. William Phillips was born about 1841 in Kentucky. William was 18 years
old at the 1860 Census.
iii. John Phillips was born about 1844 in Kentucky. John was 16 years old
at the 1860 Census.
iv. Susan M. (Margaret?) Phillips was born about 1845 in Kentucky. Margaret
was 14 years old at the 1860 Census. Susan M. Phillips was 25 at the 1870
Census. They were likely the same person (Susan Margaret Phillips).
v. George W. Phillips was born about 1851 in Kentucky. George was 9 years
old at the 1860 Census and 18 at the 1870 Census.
vi. Rebecca Phillips was born about 1854 in Kentucky. Rebecca was 6 years
old at the 1860 Census.

7. James Jenner was born on Apr 18 1814 in Kentucky. He died about May 187
9 in Campbell County, Kentucky. John's wife was a widow in 1880. According
to an article in the Newport Local of June 5 1879, under the heading "County
Court"; "Final settlement of W. R. Newman administrator of J. B. Jenner,
deceased, filed and continued."
He was married to Ann Shaw. Ann Shaw was born about 1825 in Kentucky. She
died on Apr 4 1908. Her death is recorded in the SHAW family Bible. James
Jenner and Ann Shaw had the following children:

i. Cordelia "Corda" Jenner was born on Jul 11 1856 in Campbell County, KY.
ii. John James Jenner was born about 1859 in Kentucky.
iii. Mary Jenner was born about 1861 in Kentucky.
iv. Sallie Jenner was born about 1863 in Kentucky.

8. Sally Jenner was born on Jan 7 1816.
She was married to John Black on Jan 7 1836 in Campbell County, Kentucky.
Married by William GOSNEY. Bond by John HARRIS. Consent given by Sally's
brother James JENNER, her parents being dead and she living with the John
HARRIS family. Sally Jenner and John Black had the following children:

i. John B. Black was born on Dec 12 1853 in Campbell County, Kentucky.

9. Rhoda Jenner was born on May 30 1818 in Kentucky. She resided in 1860
in Parkersburg, Madison Township, Richland County, Illinois. George W. and
Rhoda Smith lived near Rhoda's brother George and John Jenner in Richland
County, Illinois in 1860. She died in Mar 1865. George Washington and
Rhoda Smith moved from Campbell County, Kentucky and settled near Olney,
Richland County, Illinois in June of 1840.
She was married to George Washington Smith (son of William Bruce Smith) on
Dec 24 1835 in Campbell County, Kentucky. George and Rohda were married by
William GOSNEY. Bond was supplied by her brother John JENNER who made an
oath that Rohda "has no parents living the with his brother James
present...." George Washington Smith was born on Feb 22 1812 in Kentucky.
He died on Jun 12 1868 in Richland County, Illinois. George SMITH of Clay
County, Illinois, purchased 80 acres in Richland County, Illinois recorded
at the Palestine, Illinois Land Office on December 8, 1830. He purchased 80
acres in Richland County, Illinois, recorded at the Vandalia Land Office on
August 10, 1838. He purchased 80 acres in Richland County recorded at the
Palestine, Illinois Land Office on May 20, 1841. George W. SMITH of
Lawrence County, Illinois purchased 32.55 acres in Richland County, Illinois
recorded on March 10, 1843 at the Palestine, Illinois Land Office. Rhoda
Jenner and George Washington Smith had the following children:

i. James E. Smith.
ii. Sarah J. Smith was born about 1840 in Illinois. Sarah was 10 at the
1850 annd 19 at the 1860 Census.
iii. Louisa Smith was born about 1842 in Illinois. Louisa was 8 at the 1850
and 18 at the 1860 Census.
iv. Lavinna? Smith was born about 1842 in Illinois. lavinna was 8 at the
1850 and 18 at the 1860 Census.
v. Nancy E. Smith was born about 1844 in Illinois. Nancy was 5 at the 1850
and 16 at the 1860 Census.
vi. John Wesley Smith.
vii. William O. B. Smith was born about 1850 in Illinois. William was two
months old at the 1850 Census and 10 at the 1850 Census. He was a Doctor in
Crossville, Illinois.
viii. Harriett Smith was born about 1853 in Illinois. Harriett was 7 at the
1860 Census.

10. Hezekiah M. Jenner was born on Jan 23 1820 in Kentucky.
He was married to Ellen Newman in 1853 in Campbell County, Kentucky. Ellen
Newman was born about 1826. She died on Nov 26 1859. She was buried about
Nov 28 1859 in Persimmon Grove Baptist Cemetery, Campbell County, Kentucky.
Hezekiah M. Jenner and Ellen Newman had the following children:

i. Montgomery Jenner was born about 1847 in Kentucky.
ii. Margaret Jenner was born about 1850 in Kentucky.
iii. John B. Jenner was born about 1851 in Kentucky.
iv. Alonzo Jenner was born on Jun 1 1854 in Kentucky. He died on Feb 8
1880. Alonzo JENNER heirs appear on the 1892 Road List in District 4 owning
40 acres valued at $800. He was buried about Feb 10 1880 in Persimmon Grove
Baptist Cemetery, Campbell County, Kentucky.
v. Augusta Jenner was born about 1856 in Kentucky.

Hezekiah was married to Charlotte. Charlotte was born about 1832 in Ohio.
Charlotte appears as Hezekiah's wife in the 1870 Census.

11 Levin Jenner was born on Sep 13 1821. Leven Jenner, Sept 13, 1821
appears in James J. Shaw Family Bible. ( Levins brother James Jenner married
Ann Shaw.) Levin JENNER, age 28, a Brick Mason, appears in the 1850 Census
of Campbell County, Kentucky. He is a boarder in a tavern run by Elizabeth
THOMAS. Other boarders include J. D. POLLARD, J. BUSKET?, and Wm. SMITH.
The name Levin appears often in early Somerset County, Maryland Census
records

12. Mary Jenner was born on Jul 5 1823.
She was married to John Armstrong on Nov 21 1844 in Kenton County, Kentucky.
Married by EG, Bond was by John Black ( husband of Mary's sister Sally
Jenner ).

13 Elizabeth Jane Jenner was born on Jan 7 1825. Elizabeth may have
married Squire MARDIS. MARDIS and his wife Elizabeth, age 25, appear in
the 1850 Census of Campbell County, Kentucky with William JENNERs children
Nancy and John James.
