Hi Ross,
I found a Jonathan Jennings who answered the Lexington Alarm as a
militiaman from Windham, Windham County, Conneticut in April of 1775. My
ancestor Joseph Jennings also answered from the same town, then served in
the Connecticut Continental Line from 1777 through 1780. I suspect these
two were brothers. There was a whole bunch of Jennings in this little
Connecticut town. They all appear to have been related. The Windham Town
Hall has birth records back to 1682!!!!
Joseph's son Gordon C. Jennings b. 4 May 1782 in Windham, Windham County,
Connecticut died manning a cannon at the ALAMO in 1836. Gordon was my ggg
grandfather.
