Jo Ellen,
Your post caught my attention because of the Thompson name...not really
common as a given name. My grandfather was Richard Thompson Jennings, and I
have felt the Thompson probably came from someone's surname in the family.
My g-grandfather was Elijah H. Jennings. One census says b. in Ky.
(1812/13), others say Tn. He m. in Statesville, Wilson Co., Tn. I know some
of the Jennings went back & forth between Ky & Tn. He m. 1. Elizabeth
Williams in Tn. in 1837, and Margaret Malissa Tucker in 1844 in that area.
If you come across anything that would link him, please let me know. I have
searched for years to try to find his parents. Deloris
