This is actually a family that I descend from in several different
directions. Some of the allied surnames are: HUDDLESTON, ENSOR, and KERR.

Most of this family has been documented in a book called "The Book of
Jared" by Eleanor McAllister Hall. The first edition was copyright in 1963,
and she has published a second and yet a third edition. I haven't seen the
second two books, but know that there are a few errors in the first.
In her first book, she speculates that this line could possibly decend
from Thomas GERRARD and his second wife Rose NEWTON. This has neither been
proven or disproven, although it is hardly unlikely.
I am going to try and add a few notes to the following people that I
immediately recognized from your listing. Check out my webpage and let me
know what additional information I may be able to add.

Elizabeth JARRETT (JARED) b:23 Jan 1778; M:(12 Jan 1807) Samuel BEARD
child #7 of John JARRETT (JARED) and Rachel PALMER. **Three of these
siblings married Beards, Elizabeth m. Samuel, Sarah m. Robert, and Joseph m.
Martha Agnes "Aggie." According to the Book of Jared, Martha Agnes was the
daughter of Margit Young.

child #1 of John JARRETT (JARED) and Rachel PALMER.

Israel JARRETT (JARED) b:1771; M:Elizabeth BROWN; d:probably VA;

1802) Agnes BEARD;

**According to the Book of Jared, Joseph m. Agnes 23 Oct 1780 in
Bedford Co.,
VA. He married Elizabeth Baker about 1805 in Tennessee. All the
children of
Joseph and "Aggie" were born in Bedford County, VA. Joseph Jared was
a
Revolutionary War Soldier and received a land grant for property in
Middle
Tennessee in that area that is now Putnam County. Many of his
descendants
still live in that area today.

ENSOR; d:20 Mar 1862, Putnam Co TN; buried Low Gap Cemetery;
child of Joseph JARRETT (JARED) and Agnes BEARD.
** I can probably give you a lot on Ruth Jared. Actually Ruth is buried
in the
Joseph Jared Cemetery near Low Gap in Putnam County, TN. For a short
time she and her husband Jonathan Lasley Ensor lived in Sangamon Co.,
IL. Jonathon died 23 Dec 1826 from a fall from a horse in Sangamon Co.,
IL., and Ruth and another women (identity unknown) and her three small
children came back to Tennessee. She never remarried and raised her
children by herself, as well as a granddaughter. Her sister Ruth
married a Henry
M. Kerr, from whom I descend also.

child #10 of John JARRETT (JARED) and Rachel PALMER.

Sarah JARRETT (JARED) b:20 Jan 1783; M:(14 Jan 1806) Robert BEARD;
child #8 of John JARRETT (JARED) and Rachel PALMER.

Thomas JARRETT (JARED) b:7 Sep 1776; M:"Polly" Mary ADKERSON;
child #6 of John JARRETT (JARED) and Rachel PALMER.

William JARRETT (JARED) b:3 Jun 1758; M:Elizabeth RAULSTEN;
child #1 of John JARRETT (JARED) and Hannah WHITMORE (Whitacre).
**again one of my lines. William was also a Revolutionary War Soldier
and
received a land grant in what is now Putnam County, TN. His property
was
not to far from his brother Joseph.
