Hello Eileen,
It is generally agreed that the best, most historic, most reliable book
on Jesse James is "Jesse James was His Name" by William Settle -- 1966.
He talks of George Sheperd on pp 30, 38, 96, and 103-5. Olie Shepherd is
on pp 36, 38, 96.
"The Life, Times and Treacherous Death of Jesse James" by Frank Triplett is
not as respected or as academic as Settle's book but it has many page
references and a whole chapter "George Shepherd's Feat of Arms".
"Jesse James - The Man and the Myth" by Marley Brant also has a fair amount
on the Shepherd's.
All three of these books are in print and can be purchased new.
