I have compiled a marriage index for the JEWSBURY surname from the
PRO's marriage index (via pages downloaded from 1837online.com).
From mid-1911 on, the spouse's surname is also included with
the information, making it possible to easily find the full
name of the person married.

In some instances I have been able to cross-reference and find
the full name of the spouse, and in some cases I already had
the spouse's name through research. These cases I have indicated
with an asterisk.

I am not going to post this to a web site because it obviously
contains data concerning living people; however, there are plans
to transcribe a good portion of the post-1901 data for FreeBMD
and much of what I have assembled will be available on that site
in time.

I will distribute this to any JEWSBURY researcher who promises
not to publish it directly to a web site until more of the
privacy concerns raised by having the PRO in digital form
have been worked out.

In keeping with earlier work, where I had information on a
JEWESBURY or JOESBURY on the same page, I included that
information. I have saved copies of the PRO pages and can
double-check any entry or, if someone feels I've omitted
an entry, can also go back and look for that. Some of
the pages (some of the more recent ones, early 1970s) were
difficult to read, and if I had a question regarding the
entry, I placed a question mark beside the data.

The data is currently in Excel spreadsheet form, though I
can publish it to most other formats upon request.

I'm also working on the birth and death indices for
the same time period; I have most of the pages downloaded,
but have not yet begun to transcribe them into Excel.

Sincerely,
Amy Moseley Rupp
