My aunt told me that her grandmother was Marietta Johnson. She married Marcus Sisson and they lived in Roseville, Ill. The 1880 census says she was born in NY and her father was born CT.
My aunt also said her father was Harry Johnson and her mother was Rosanna. They had three children; Andrew J., Marietta, and Lydia Jane that married William Newburn. The 1850 Lexington, Greene Co. NY census lists Harry as being 60 years of age, making him born about 1790. There is also another daughter names Catherin. He was a shoemaker.
My aunt also said Harry was previously married to Philinda Dudley and they had at least three children. His father was Collins Johnson and his mother Asenith Page.
The 1860 NY, Greene, Jewett census has a Ruth Rice, 64, living with Harry and Rosanna. On the same page is a John C. Johnson, age 44 that was also born in Connecticut.
I was wondering if any of these names is familiar to anyone on the Johnson list. I would like to know if and how Harry is related to the other Johnsons in Greene County, NY and how Harry and Collins are related to those that are from CT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
