Am seeking verification of parents of Rev. John Johnson, believed born either York Co. or Kennebec Co., ME. We think he was born abt. 1811 and married to Maria Springer Norcross. He was a Baptist clergyman and according to 1850 census was living in Cherryfield, ME with his wife and her sister, Livonia Norcross. No children listed at that point. I also understand Rev. Johnson was pastor of a Baptist Church in Sullivan, ME in the 1870s.
They may have adopted a child, Frederick Augustus Johnson b. abt. 1848 who ultimately married Olive J. Bacon of Sullivan, Hancock, ME. These were my grandmother's paternal grandparents.
Found information that may link Rev. Johnson to Edward "the Gent" Johnson, b. 1595 who was in York, ME by 1640 and m. Priscilla, but have no documentation on this.

Thanks so much for any information.
