My Johnston ancestors were from a townland called Woodbank (sometimes called
Killaphort) near Shannonbridge in Offaly, Ireland.

My gg-grandfather was William, married Susan Chartres, and they had 10
children:
Anne Matilda (1842-1901), married William Wilson, ran a shop in
Shannonbridge
John (1848-1862)
William Henry (1849-c1927), emigrated to the US I think
Joseph (1853-1917), married Annie Lewis Dagg, stayed in Woodbank on family
farm, had several children
George Edward (1855-c1925), never married, stayed on family farm I think
Lucy (c1856-1917), my great-grandmother, married John Price, had three sons
Sarah Jane (1858-?)
Maria (1860-?)
Susan (1862-?), married Thomas Lewis, possibly emigrated to Australia
Henry (1865-?)

If anyone has any links to the family I would love to compare notes.

- Laura
