18 January 1830 - Laurens County, Ga. JESSE JOINER- Joiner, of Laurens
County, sold to Benet Joiner, Davis Joiner and Elijah Wells. For the price
of $1,000, sold was 3rd Land District, Land Lot #70. Also conveyed was one
negro woman named Phereby and two boys Isaac and Henry. Also conveyed was
all his stock of horses, cattle, hogs, all household and kitchen furniture
and all other property. Deed witnessed by Mahala B. Joiner (her mark) and
Martha N. Joiner (her mark). Martha N. Joiner attested, before Justice of
Peace Coleman Saunders, to the deed on 2 January 1847.
October 1830: Laurens County, Georgia: Rebecca Joiner; Plaintiffs were
Rebecca Joiner and Jesse Joiner. Defendant was William Joiner. Motion for
the appointment of commissioners to lay off dower.
8 October 1834: Laurens County, Georgia: JESSE JOINER: Plaintiff was
Joiner. Defendants were Isaac Brookings and his wife Penelope. Case. Jury
# 1 verdict for the plaintiff in amount of $65, plus cost of suit.
13 Sep 1836: Laurens County, Geogia: Petitioners Rebecca Joiner and Jesse
Joiner. On motion of L. D. Lemlie, attorney for Isaac Brookins, claimant,
court ordered that the commissioners appointed to lay off dower do so and
make their return on or before the first day of the next term of court.
6 September 1847: Laurens County, Georgia: Rebecca Joiner, widow of the
deceased Jesse Joiner, was the plaintiff. The defendants were Bennet Joiner,
Davis Joiner, and Elijah Wells. Petition for assignment of dower.
6 September 1848: Laurens County Georgia: Plaintiff was Joiner, widow of
the deceased Jesse Joiner. Defendants were Bennet Joiner, Davis Joiner, and
Elijah Wells. Petition for assignment of dower in 22nd Land district, Land
Lot # 322.
March 1848: Laurens County, Georgia: Plaintiff was Rebecca Joiner.
Defendants were the heirs of Jesse Joiner. Petition for dower. Witnesses
were Eason Allen, Martha Lafever, and J. W. Smith
4 September 1850: Laurens County, Georgia: Rebecca Joiner, widow of Jesse
Joiner, petitioned the court for the court to make a committee to lay off her
dower for the lands owner by her deceased husband. The land was located in
22nd Land District, Land Lot #322
4 March 1851: Laurens County, Georgia: The commissioners appointed to lay
off the dower to Rebecca Joiner, a widow of Jesse Joiner, reported their
doings and their labor was made the judgment of the court.
4 June 1837: Laurens County, Georgia: Petitioners were JESSE JOINER and
REBECCA JOINER, the former Rebecca JOHNSON. Dower and the return of the
commissioners.
