In the process of tracing my family, I have come across a lot of information
that might be useful to other people. These Joyce's are not part of my
ancestors.
1) Baptism records at the R.C. parish at Kilworth for children of Edmund
Joyce and Mary O'Brien
Child - Date - Address - Sponsors
James, 13/03/1838, Kilworth, Michael Miles & Mary Aherne
John, 30/10/1839, Kilworth, John O'Brien & Johanna Browne
Michael, 21/09/1841, Kilworth, Edmund Browne & Bridget Joyce
Catherine, 17/09/1843, Kilworth, Thomas Coffey & Mary O'Brien
Mary, 31/01/1845, Kilworth, Patrick Clancy & Sarah Joyce
Julia (a twin), 25/08/1848, Kilworth, Patrick Driscoll & Ellen Roche
Edmund (a twin), 25/08/1848, Kilworth, Patrick Flynn & Ellen Meade
Thomas, 09/03/1852, Kilworth, Michael Kerrissy & Bridget Quirke

Carey, 13/07/1856, Kilworth, Edmund Flynn & Ellen Kelleher
Ellen, 0/03/1859, Kilworth, Michael O'Brien & Ellen Joyce
2) Griffith's Valuation, Civil Parish of Leitrim, townland of Knockatrasnane
an Edmund Joyce leased 23 acres from William Collins This is in the R.C.
Parish at Kilworth and is likely the same Edmund Joyce as above.
3) In the U.S. 1870 census for Pittsfield, Mass. there is a Thomas Joyce,
age 36, born in Ireland and his wife Maria, age 32, born in Ireland. They
are listed with 3 children all born in Mass.: Anna, age 5; William, age 3;
and John, age 1.
They are also on the 1880 census for Pittsfield but by that time have had 4
more children: Edward, 8 in 1880; Margaret, 5 in 1880; Elizabeth, 3 in 1880;
and Thomas born Nov. 1879.
They were also listed in the 1900 census. Thomas was 59 and his wife, whose
name was now listed as Mary, was 54. Mary was born in June 1845 in Ireland.
The children still at home were Annie, b. May 1867, Edward, b. July 1873,
Margaret, b. Nov. 1875, and Elizabeth, b. June 1877.
4) In the U.S. 1870 census for Lawrence, Mass. there is a Thomas Joice, age
40, born in Ireland and his wife Mary, age 40, born in Ireland. Listed with
them is their 6 month old baby, Edmund, born in Mass.
5) In the U.S. 1900 census for Boston, Mass. there is a Thomas Joyce, born
in Ireland Jan. 1852, and came to U.S. in 1896. He was working as a day
laborer and boarded with the Thomas Ridge family.
Hope this information is useful to someone.
