Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 4, 2005, at Life Care
Center of Charleston, John E. Joyce, husband of Josefine W. Joyce. Residence,
Charleston, SC. All funeral services will be private. Mr. Joyce was born March 13,
1917 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Michael J. Joyce and Margaret Coyne Joyce.
He retired as supervisor from the United States Postal Service in Pittsburgh,
PA. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife
of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Barbara J. Franklin and her husband Paul of
Charleston, SC and Margaret E. Joyce of Newark, DE; one son, Brian C. Joyce
and Mary Ellen Joyce of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Thomas F. Joyce of
Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren, Cadet Darren John Joyce of West Point,NY, Erika M.
Joyce of Pittsburgh, PA, Kyla Joyce of Pittsburgh, PA, Jordan Turnbull and
her husband Dan Houghton of Newark, DE, Regan Turnbull of Newark, DE and Will
Turnbull of Newark, DE; one great-granddaughter, Reese Houghton of Newark, DE.
Memorials may be made to Coastal Carolina Alzheimer's Chapter Association, P.
O. Box 80459, Charleston, SC 29416. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC.,
Downtown Chapel.
