Thomas Kane m. Mary Heslin in Ireland. Probably Longford or Lietrim as
Heslin is a very uncommon name. There were only 20 Irish families with that
name in 1850, 18 in Longford and 2 in Lietrim.
Mary and Thomas came to America and landed in Danbury, CT. They moved to
Ossining NY and Mary had a job washing down the Court House steps. Margaret
Kane was born in NY in 1861 but I do not know if she was born in Ossining or
after the family had moved to NYC. Margaret married William Hilliard in
Jersey City, NJ on Oct. 1st, 1878. they had 8 children including my
g.father Robert Hilliard.

We do not know if Margaret Kane had any siblings. Does any of this sound
familiar to anyone?
