Hello Group
We have inherited through our grandfather a set of red glasses engraved with
the name Henry Staff 1905. The family story is that these glasses were a
present from the family he was staying with in the state of Kansas. His name
was John ELLISON and he was allegedly working in a meat packing factory in
the state somewhere. He left Durham in England around 1903 supposedly as an
immigrant but returned home less than two years later.
Does anyone have any information on who this STAFF family may be or any
other useful information on possible locations of a factory recruiting from
the UK?, would there be a census taken during this period where John may
appear?
