Hi list,

John Winston Cofer born about Abt. 1848 went to Kansas following the War
Between the States with wife Nebrasaka Rosella K. Cofer born Abt. 1857 and
five children.

John invested in a dry farm. After three unsuccessful years there, the crops
were burned by the winds. I have no other information about his time in
Kansas or dates.

Any one have any information about Dry Farms, wind storms or people moving
into Kansas following 1865 from the West Virginia area? Any suggestions will
be appreciated.
