Found your George Ennen and wife, Caroline in the 1920 Federal Census for
Beloit, Mitchell County Kansas on Roll T625_540 page 3 B.
Household 87/94
Ennen, George, Head, Owns home, Free of Encumbrance, Male White Age 58
Married, Yr of Immigration 1888, Port: Pennsylvania, Reads and Writes
English, Birth place Germany, Speaks German; Father born Germany,
Language German; Mother born Germany, Language German; Speaks English;
Occupation: none
Ennen, Caroline, Wife, Female White, age 69, Married, Yr of Immigration
1892; Port: Alabama; Reads and writes English; Place of Birth Germany;
Language German; Father b. Germany, Language German; Mother b. Germany,
Language: German; Speaks English, Occupation: none.
Of interest, eleven lines above was Ennen, Henry, Head, Rents, Male,
White, age 61, Single; Immigrated 1893; Port: Pennsylvania; Reads and
writes English; Birth place Germany, Language German; Father b. Germany,
Language German; Mother b. Germany, Language German; Speaks English: Yes;
Occupation: Farm Labor; Works out. (I included him as might be an older
brother of George.)
Then went hunting for the 1900 Federal Census and found him and wife
Carrie (nick name for Caroline in US) with one son, Joseph, and five
dtrs. George b. Sept 1862 per his statement. Also in the household is
another George Ennen, relationship to head of household: Father, b. Sept.
1824 widowed.
