Wilma Ethel Cox

FORT SCOTT - Wilma Ethel Cox, 83, of Fort Scott, formerly of Fulton, died
Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at the Mercy Health Center.

She was born June 13. 1921 in Englevale, to Thomas Hardin and Nora Leah
Birdsell Martin. She moved to Boubon County in 1933 and attended the Large
School.

She married Robert Brown Jr. on April 5, 1941 in Arcadia. He preceded her in
death on Aug. 10, 1979. She married Lee Cox on Dec. 14, 1989 at Fulton. He
survives.

She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and a member
and past matron of the Violet Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Fulton.

Additional survivors include a step-daughter, Janice Minson of The Dalles,
Ore.; a step-son, Richard Cox of The Dalles; a brother, Raymond Martin of
Wichita; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David and Allen
Martin; one sister, Alta Cantrell; and a niece.

William James Schafer, of Mercy Pastoral Services, will conduct graveside
services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the West Liberty Cemetery. Family and friends
will meet at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday and leave
for the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home of
Fort Scott.
