Hello, My great g-father James Yates was christened on 8 Mar, 1840 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. On the record I have are listed his father Thomas Yates and mother Sara Kaye. Hence my interest in Kaye. I have another record of a George Kaye b. 1792-1797 who married Hannah? bc-1797-1801. At the time of the 1841 census they lived in Emley, Yorkshire with six children ( a seventh not at home for census)One of those children was a Sarah (note the Sara-vs- Sarah) who was listed as 15 yrs of age in 1841-- bc 1826. The dates don't match up unless she was a very young mother. So I am still looking. I don' know if this helps you at all. I think you have some work to do from 1930's back to ??.
