Thank you...I'd not heard of this...it a great lead.
My search for Kearns is going to be very difficult and I'll try
anything.

Subject: [KEARNS] Gencircles World Tree
I am a new subscriber to the KEARNS email list. My ggm maiden name was
KEARNS. All KEARNS mailing list members should consider uploading a
GEDCOM of
their family file to _www.gencircles.com_ (http://www.gencircles.com/)
for
part of the World Tree. They have over 90 million names submitted by
family
historians and any name can also be queried. There are already 2405
KEARNS and
4242 CAIRNS on their file server. It's a free site. One thing that sets
it
apart from other Global tree sites like Ancestry.com, Rootsweb.com or
Genealogy.com is that it provides smartmatching against the entire file
to find and
list persons that appears to be the same as the one you submitted on
your file.
You can then check the detail to see if it's true. It works really
well and
has helped me connect with many others especially in my French-Canadian
branch. I'm hoping for the same good fortune on my Irish lines. It's
worth a
visit to the site to see what it has to offer and search for your
KEARNS/CAIRNS
ancestors.
