Kimes Look-Up Resources

Guidelines for Electronic Look-ups

1.ONE (1) source only per request. Contact the volunteers listed here
through their private e-mail address. Do not use rootsweb.

2.Limit of ONE (1) name/couple per lookup request.
Date: Wednesday, 01-Apr-98 08:22 AM

3.Limit of ONE (1) request per day (per volunteer).

4.DO use specific FULL names (i.e; John Doe - John A. Doe - J. Andrew
Doe
J. A. Doe all being a full name.) and a date range, if possible. If
you do NOT, the volunteer has every right to ignore your request.

5. DO NOT request broad look-ups. A broad lookup is defined as something
like requesting ALL the info on so-and-so's family. OR, send the dates
on ALL Jacob Kimes listed.

6. Don't bother these volunteers with useless queries. A useless query
defined as one where no name fits the request, indicating the subject
was not checked out on an index such as:
For CDs:
The Family Finder Index at: http://www.familytreemaker.com/srchzz.html

For names in KEIM/KIME databases: http://www.familytreemaker.
com/users/k/i/m/Cynthia-S-Kimes/ http://www.familytreemaker.
com/users/k/i/m/mark-E-Kimbel/

7. You may not get an answer immediately, but should hear something
within 2 weeks. If not, please re-submit your request.

Remember, these resources are offered here by the graciousness of our
subscribers. If we abuse them, they have every right to refuse to do
look-ups for anyone.

I would be happy to assist you on look-ups if resources at the New York
Genealogical and Biographical Library would be helpful. This means
probably a book lookup would be the thing to offer. I don't get into
NYC often, but will try to accommodate such requests.
