I have found a very interesting ancestor, Thomas Russell.
He built dollhouses and in a closet, left his picture, the date of his
birth, London, England March 14, 1794, and his date of emmigration May
1832.

There are numerous Thomas Russell's on the IGI that could fit this birth
BUT they are all christening dates and not actual birth dates. Without
knowing his parents names, it is a guessing game.
Are there other indexes available that show birthdates?

Thomas Russell was a shoemaker.
Was this an occupation that required being a member of a guild?
Are there lists of shoemaker Guilds for London?
Are there city directories for the early 1830's?

He was married to Elizabeth. This may be the Elizabeth Morris in the IGI
who married Thomas Russell May 28, 1818 in Tipton, Stafford Co. England.

Thomas and Elizabeth Russell had 2 children. I have not found their
birth records on the IGI.
Ruth Russell was born according to her obituary, on June 2, 1819 in
London, England. The obituary also indicates that she crossed the London
Bridge everyday before emmigrating to Euclid, Ohio when she was 12 years
old.
Her brother Thomas Russell Jr. was born about 1824.

Thank you for any information or suggestions on this search,
Peg
