Hi Listers,

I have 2 mysteries concerning my research into the DENN name and the
information my son got from the FRC in London. According to the FRC
records both children listed below were born a DENN with the mother's
maiden name as WILLIAMS.

For personal and family reasons I wanted to find out more about these two
girls so I sent for their Birth Certificates which is even more confusing
to me.

1] Diana Denn - dob 1941 - Mother = Mary Denn [State Registered Nurse]
- NO FATHER'S NAME GIVEN - BUT at the end of the certificate it states
"Adopted" with the name of another Registrar.

2] Eileen Denn - dob 1949 - Mother = Mary WILLIAMS otherwise DENN --
Father = F. J. WILLIAMS.

As I said, the FRC records showed both these girl's mother as being a
Williams, which must make [1] incorrect. Can anyone give a feasible
explanation for [2]? Eileen was born a DENN but her father is shown on
the Birth certificate as F. J. Williams.

Any suggestions/explanations/ideas would be gratefully received
