Free BMD so far only lists 3 Hanson birth records in Dover for this 20 year
period, so I believe that many more are due to be transcribed. However....
the following entry looks very much like it could be yours. The age is
right, and the father's name as a middle name for the first born son would fit.
Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Jun 1859
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HANSON John Thomas Dover 2a 660
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Were I you with this mystery, I would go on 1837online and purchase 55
search units. That will get you 11 quarters to search through the HAN
trigraph. I would suggest that you look in Jun 1860 through 1872. If the
above birth is true, the next sister could not be born sooner.
Make sure you SAVE every page that you visit to your hard drive so that you
can revisit the scans any time. What you will end up with is a complete
list of all HANSON births in England for this 11 year time frame.
Good luck, Joe
