Scott and others:
I have conversed with Scott both on this list and individually. He has
posted some very important research results on this list and hopefully has
helped someone out.
While we are a small family group, its size does narrow our research down a
lot and possibly will present a finding of close or distant relationships if
we work together.
As manager of this list, I would really like to see a posting from EVERYONE
on this list - and in it I would recommend that you provide your pedigrees
for our information, as well as who is your Kenty brick wall and what you
know about them- and what you need to know about them. Hopefully, with all
the miscellaneous information we all have, someone might be able to help.
A gentleman, a retired doctor from Amherst, NS, has labored to make contact
with me, and has provided some great information to me on my Kentys. What
brought his attention to me was my great grandmother, Margaret Wilson Kenty.
Her parents were McDonald and McQuarry. He has these names and Wilson in
his family and is supposing somehow these are all tied in together.
As for my Kentys, this is what I have:
John Kenty (b Elmsdale, 25 June 1840) married Christy Ellen McDonald (b
Caledonia, 16 Oct 1846) in Caledonia, 21 feb 1872. He was 35, a carpenter,
and father was Terence (a miner I believe) and mother was Mary McMicheal.
Christy's (Christina) father was Horatio McDonald (also a miner) and mother
was Annabel McQuarry.
They had 4 girls: Clara, Margaret and Anabell - these 3 emigrated to Lynn,
Essex, MA. A fourth daughter, Jennie (Janice?), is buried in Springhill
Hillside Cemetery (died at 3y 8m in 1886). Her father, John Kenty is also
buried there and died in 1902.
As is usual, there are many spellings for first and surnames, so read them
broadly.
I look forward to hopefully having some chatter in this list. I understand
we all have a life to live and I certainly have limited time for this, but
this Kenty line is quite illusive and it'd be fun to get some of us
organized and headed off in a new updated direction. I know I could use
some help.
