Sorry, I haven’t rec’d any messages from you since you asked for the D’s
and E’s, I think it was. So I missed the call for O’s

On Nov 6, 1787, Fayette Co., KY, he was married to Sarah McDowell by
Rev.
James Crawford, minister of Walnut Hill Presbyterian Church 1787 He was
on
the tax list in Fayette Co., KY in 1787 enumerated with William Stafford
with 0 poll.
May 12, 1791, Nelson Co., KY: he was a witness at a trial, John B.
Stovall
vs William Pennebaker. In August, Stovall was ordered to pay each of his
witnesses 25 pounds of tobacco.
Mar 16, 1792, Nelson Co., KY; he was to be paid for two days as witness
in
a trial Hopkins vs Wise.
Nov. 29, 1792, he was on the Nelson Co. tax list no land 1 horse, 8
cattle
1793 He was on the Nelson Co. tax list no land, 1 horse, 7 cattle
1795 He was on the Delinquent tax list in Clarke Co., KY and also on
the
tax list for Madison Co.
1796 He was on the Clark Co. tax list
1797 On the Montgomery Co., tax list, no land
1800 On the Montgomery Co. tax list
Oct 1807, he was an appraiser for an estate in Boone Co., KY

This is the last we find of him, although his youngest son was born in
Franklin Co., IN in 1808. His wife/widow is named in a court case in
Franklin
Co. in 1815 and is apparently living with a son in Franklin Co., 1820
There are McDowells in Fayette Co. in 1787, James and John, apparently
sons
of Judge Samuel McDowell, but I can't fit my Sarah into their line. Also,
those
McDowells were all well educated, but none of my Sarah's sons could read or
write,
so I don't know where she fits in.

Any info on John Fred or Sarah McDowell would be greatly appreciated.
