THE HAUNTED STATE OFFICE BUILDING IN FRANKFORT, KY

Do you know anyone who has worked in the State
Office Building in Frankfort? If you do, it’s
possible that they noticed employees getting out
of there the moment the office closed in the
evening; no one seems to want to be there after
dark. Goings on are so strange that even the
Southern Indian Ghost Hunters have been called in to investigate.

Construction of this building began in 1937 and
was finished in 1940. Maybe government officials
should have planned its location a little more;
it was built where the former Kentucky State
Penitentiary once stood. Some of the structures from that day still remained.

A renovation was done on the building and
re-opened in early 2007. Workers doing the
renovation reported being touched or grabbed. One
worker swore he was tripped by something or
someone while walking down the stairway.

The team from Indiana didn’t find much but they
did hear voices coming from areas where there was
no one or caught a fast movement out of the corner of their eye.

Employees have told of being there after dark and
hearing the rustling of papers from a nearby
cubicle or of the copy machine running down the
hall. But, there was no one there. A man was
rushing to catch the elevator and saw someone get
in. He pushed the button to re-open the door
before it moved – there was no one inside.

Could it be possible that ghosts from the
penitentiary still roam the halls after dark? I
don’t know, but I think I would get out while it was still light too!
