Subject: Surnames in Kentucky: Landauer and Newburger

I am researching the surnames of Landauer and Newburger. Here are
the stats:

Henrietta NEWBURGER, born 1859 Kentucky. Married Carl Theodore
LANDAUER in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY in 1895. Carl lived in
Canton, Fulton Co., IL and took Henrietta back there with him to
live. Their marriage entry in the county clerk's book says that the
witnesses to the marriage were a J. O. MOSES and an E. NEWBURGER.

Carl had an uncle that was said to have died in Louisville. His name
was Madel LANDAUER, who died in 1859 at the age of 27. That is all I
know of Madel. I haven't found any other Landauers in Louisville,
with the exception of an entry in Madel could have changed his first
name to something a little less foreign sounding, like Max or Mark or
anything else that began with an "M".
