Patrick P. Ryan immigrated (date unknown) to Virginia and was married to
Manerva Anne Edwards in
Richmond, Va. on July 17, 1855. She was a resident of Halifax County,
Va. and his residence was in
Richmond, Va. Her parents were James Edwards and Elvira Boley
(Edwards).

Patrick P. Ryan's marriage certificate includes that he was the son of
Mary and Philip, was 23 years of
age when he married on July 17, 1855, occupation was "stone Cutter", and
that he was born in Ireland.

Preliminary research done by my cousin through a researcher in Ireland
revealed that he was the son of
Philip Ryan and Mary Butler, was from Kilkenny, and had the following
siblings: Thomas b. Aug. 15,
1829; John b. Apr. 26, 1836; and Catherine b. Dec. 21, 1839. The
researcher also concluded that
Philip and Mary were married on October 28, 1828 in Kilkenny, Ireland.
I would appreciate anything
anyone has to offer concerning this Ryan family of Kilkenny.
