I have been researching the Cantwells of Callan and have some questions
regarding places in Kilkenny County. Does anyone know what "bally" refers
to? There are several "bally"
locations in the Callan parish records. Also, I came across the place name
of Haggardsgreen and later I believe it was shortened to just "green". Does
anyone know where this is located? Where can I get a detailed map for 1820
or so County Kilkenny.
