Subject: Any Kilians out there?
Date: Thu, 12 Dec 1996 15:50:10 -0500

Hi, my husband's Kilian ancesters arrived in Wisconsin from Prussia in the
1850s so we are interested in connecting with German Kilians. Also, do you
other one-l Kilians come recently from Germany and are we all related? We
know who (listed below) immigrated and their descendants, but nothing of why,
from where exactly, or anything about relatives left behind.

Any advice? Does this connect with any of you German Kilians? US Kilians?
I would like to know more about how these Irish Kilians got to Germany in the
first place. I know about St. Kilian, etc.. Any other details?

Charles/Carl Kilian (son of Johann Christopher Kilian and Anna Marie Wernen)
b. 4/13/1821 in Jordonsmule Prussia
d. 2/12/1894 in Portland, Wisconsin
m. Rosine Dorothea Gruner (b. 6/11/1818 in Prussia)

Immigrated to U.S. in 1856 and settled in Wisconsin (there are now lots and
lots of Kilians in WI)
Had 9 children, one of whom was Louis Gottfried (1865-1945) who married Anna
Langer & had a son, Harvey Harold Elmer (1906-1985) who married Alice
McGovern and had a son Robert Phillip Kilian (1935- ) who had a son, my
husband, Joseph Kenneth Kilian (who now has two sons, Ryan and Jack!)
