For those that do not know or have forgotten, the url above is my
mirror of my main url. That means I try to copy my web pages from
my main web site to the GeoCities site in case one site is down or
slow.

You all may recall that I had trouble putting maps side by side
at my main site (emcee = genealogy.org) & when I did, then the
image map failed & I could not zoom in. Then at GeoCities I put
maps side by side, but having no subdirectory structure there, I
had no place for the image-map (I think that is what it is called).
The image-map map one's mouse click to the next graphic to be
loaded (in this case, to a more detailed map of the desired city).

Can I give myself the excuse that I saw no interest until now so
when the going got rough, I finally got distracted to doing something
else. Also my shareware expired & I had maps to do for other
surnames. Is anyone interested besides Carolyn?

The towns were found in MapQuest here on the internet & you can
go to MapQuest & zoom in. The towns still exist when you look at
a very detailed map.

I know nothing of the towns. I just found them initially about 1975
while looking in old CIA gazetteers in our university map library --
one of about 50 US map depositories in the US. All the gazetteer told
was the name, longitude, latitude, & what type of feature it was
city vs. mountain vs. creek (as I remember). But they are in MapQuest
maps or at least in its database. I suspect they are of little
importance to us. I was using them to show the area where Kilian
places are located with the assumption that Andreas would more likely
come from places where Kilian is a place name. I did the map to
try to help Charles Hall find Andreas since Andreas was probably
not from the Augsberg Kilians since they were Catholic & definitely
not a son of Johannes Philip Wolfgang Kilian.

I think it would be better if I made a map showing the places where
Kilians lived e.g. Jordansmuehle, Augsberg, Konigsberg. But this is
a bigger job than I feel I have time for. I have 4 maps side by
side now & it would take 6 since Konigsberg is in the Soviet Union
east of Poland.
