Shawn Killian,
Thanks for your phone call today & your interest in
the origins of Andreas in German speaking Europe.
Don't forget to subscribe to the Killian list by
emailing the server
with the command subscribe in the subject, message,
or both.
Eddie,
Shawn told me he descends from Andreas' son John,
like you & George. He hopes to come to the reunion
SSS (2nd Sunday in September). He has a young
daughter by his wife & 3 step kids age 11 & under
by his wife. I said you had 3 boys. Eddie's boys
are 15, 13, & 11 I think.
I suggested he contact you about you 2 & others
perhaps hiring a researcher. He is considering
phoning Charles Hall. He has read the Charles Hall
report that I put on the web. He has talked to Geo.
W. Killian & Ed Killian of Natchez MS.
I mentioned my idea of DNA testing ($200 per test).
See http://Genealogy.Org/~green/genetics.htm
or if down, it is duplicated at:

I mentioned my idea of a commemorative coin for
Andreas' 300th birthday & we talked of what to put
on such a coin: Old St. Paul's &/or the monument. I
said the coin costs about $5, but the making of a
mold costs $500 to $1,000. If we sold it for more
than $5, we could put the profits on DNA testing or
hiring research on Andreas.
I mentioned the Cline reunion this weekend just past
and the success they had in researching their line
back to a 1575 birth in Alsace. [The following is
about speeches given at the Cline Reunion that we
might want to have at the Killian Reunion.]
Eddie,
... His work on putting the grants together is
worthy of inviting him. He has no local German
ancestry. He said another man has worked putting
plats together in Burke County where Ed's ancestor
went (Morganton).
Another good program we had at the Cline reunion
that you need to see is the slide show of Yount of
the locals' tour of Germany where they show slides
from many of the local surnames' home towns. That
would be a better program if people will fill out
their pedigree so they know their other lines & if
we can get the room dark. The show was after dark
Saturday night.
I recommended to Shawn that he come early enough to
attend church at Old St. Paul's. I said we have had
one 3 day reunion & he might be able to talk the
folks into another such reunion.
If you all want to talk more directly to Shawn, his
info is:
Shawn D. Killian
417-850-8949 (cell)
417-627-3047 (home)
and if I got that wrong, you can probably find his
address at Switchboard.Com by knowing he is in
Joplin Missouri.
May I send this email to the list. Should I send it
to the Killian list. I think so. If I do you all
will see it twice.
