Subject: [KINCAID-L] 2nd Lieutenant Thompson Calder Kinkead
Date: Wed, 11 Feb 1998 21:19:54 -0400

Here is another Kinkead plane tragedy which relates to a brother of the
Lieut. Samuel Marcus Kinkead killed in the crash I posted previously.

Thompson Kinkead was in training when his accident occured; it was his 2nd
solo flight. He had just finished some skillful dives and was heading home
when his engine stalled while at 300 feet.

His death notice appeared as follows. There were articles on the crash in
the same issue and in the previous day's issue.

*****
Kinkead. - Accidentally killed while flying on the South Coast on the 3rd
Sept., Thompson Calder, Sec. Lieut., R.F.C., elder son of the late Samuel
Kinkead and Mrs. Kinkead, of Johannesburg, South Africa, aged 24. (South
African papers, please copy)
