This list of verified pioneers at Fort Boonesborough was
compiled by H Thomas Tudor, Registrar of the Society
of Boonesborough and furnished compliments of the
Society of Boonesborough by James J Shannon Jr.
All of the names listed below are taken from authentic
records and the list may not be complete. Listed with
the name is the approximate date of arrival of the
person in Boonesborough when known.

The number refers to the following sources.

Census and Tax List of 1787

Madison County, Virginia

This is the first census tax taken of the newly formed
Madison County before Kentucky became a state in
1790.

Every male over 21 was charged with a tax and
their property was charged accordingly.

Campbell County was formed out of Madison County.

#1-number of white males above 16 and under 21

#3-Blacks under 16
#4-Horses, mares, colts and mules
#5-cattle
