Hello Joy. yes this Marcus was son of George Alexander Kiser and Mary Dove.
Mary Howell was Marcus' 2nd wife according to research by Elaine Walsh.
Don't have the name of Marcus' first wife, but Mary and Marcus married 6 Oct
1830. Sarah, Robert and Mary A. were children of the first marriage. George,
Silvey Matilda and Jane Melissa were children of Marcus and Mary. Other
children from the first marriage but not living in the household at the time
of 1850 census enumeration were: Marcus Jr., an daughter (name unknown),
William D., John Lee. John Lee was my GGGgrandfather.

The new location of the graves of Marcus and Mary is just inside the woods
behind a concrete block building about 100 yards West of the cul-de-sac at
the end of White Tail Ln off Hopewell Rd in the Deer Run subdivision in
Midland NC. The graves were relocated during development of the subdivision.

What is your connection?

Ed Hyland
